Hey everyone,
We want to take a minute to acknowledge what a lot of you noticed after Friday’s release.
Yes — some bikes and components disappeared.
Yes — options temporarily got slimmer.
And yes — that was intentional.
Behind the scenes, Bikology just shipped a brand-new image template system. This is a foundational change — not a visual tweak(go take a look at master links in the chain, for example).
Our previous setup made it increasingly hard to:
So we made a hard call.
We intentionally narrowed scope and removed a chunk of bikes and components so we could rebuild the system the right way — with consistency, accuracy, and scale in mind. Short-term pain, long-term wins.
This new template system enables:
This is one of those “invisible but critical” upgrades that sets the stage for everything that comes next.
We’re already actively adding bikes and components back — this time on the new foundation.
To keep ourselves accountable, here’s what’s currently in progress / up next:
Thank you
To our power users, dealers, and brands: thank you for the patience and trust. We hear you. We don’t take removing options lightly — but this reset puts Bikology in a much stronger position to move faster, look better, and support more brands without compromise.
If something you rely on disappeared and you’re itching to see it back, reach out. Feedback during this phase genuinely helps guide what comes back first.
More soon — and more often.

@trafficones nice catch! it was just this fork and has been resolved. thanks!
—The Bikology Team
@Saker which groups are you referring to?
— The Bikology Team
@Saker @Alex_Trails34 We are working on it! Thanks for the report.
@Saker thanks for chiming in. What browser and OS are you running?
@Alex_Trails34 try clearing browser cache and let us know if it doesn’t work! What’s your browser and operating system?
@riggedupgaming @chuzzy334 in order to roll out some of our major updates, we have to limit the scope of changes, ie bike list. But after this rollout, it opens us up to add a ton more bikes more efficiently, stay tuned!
@militarym0nkey pretty simple actually. Everyone from all over the world is building bikes… if someone saves a build in a time zone that’s later than you are, it can appear that it has yet to be built time wise, hence the minus. However that’s not the intended functionality and we will get this looked at.
@Lucasgri thanks for the nudge, we appreciate the accountability. here's a sneak peek of functionality we are launching:

We are going through and backfilling this functionality on existing frames that are currently live on our platform. We will take a few days to address some other pieces of the puzzle that will improve everyone's experience on our website. Then it is off to adding frames as a whole. Keep your eyes peeled in the next 72 hours.

@VbV we just walked through a build and things looked to work as expected. are you still seeing problems?
—The Bikology Team
@VbV can you walk me through what this problem was? did you try loading a saved build? did you land on the builder, click the druid, and no components loaded for you? Any tips to help debug would be helpful. Thanks!
—The Bikology Team
I'd 100% ride that bike.
@styl3points @sam.graham724 @trafficones @ILUVBIKES please read: https://www.bikology.com/topic/212/update-on-product-requests-additions
thanks!

@cc24aal great question. If a manufacturer states that a dual crown is welcome on trail bike, we will open up that bike to be built like a DH bike. For example, Forbidden allows 180mm dual crowns on the Dreadnought. You will be able to choose either. There's a grey area here. Anyone can built up a Saint drivetrain to any trail bike and it'll work just as expected. We will play with these 'less than normal' scenarios in the future.

@Lucasgri today we migrated to a standardized nav across mobile / tablet / desktop. please holler if you have any more problems.

Hey Bikology Crew,
As many of you have noticed, there's been a pause on product additions, removed some components like DH forks, and didn't transfer over bikes from 2022 and older to this platform. We thought we'd chime in and provide an update.
Over the years, we've partnered with a number of online retailers and moved through a lot of custom functionality to make these projects happen. What ended up happening were a few too many cooks in the kitchen as far as images and functionality goes. Templates degraded, and it left us in a tough spot.
While we did our transition to the new platform, we scaffolded a new template engine that will allow us to move quicker in product additions. However, there's a lot of moving parts that make this a complicated project... even if it is our bread and butter. Our next templates will be DH bikes, Enduro bikes, Trail bikes and XC bikes. Hardtails will mix in with these categories as well. To follow will be Gravel bikes, DJs, BMX, and so on.
Thanks for your patience while we are setting ourselves up for a more productive and efficient future. We will post updates on this thread as we move through.
