that's not an xc frame, or xc components other than the tires and wheels, but those wheels are kinda outdated at this point anyway

@spencer_mtb ah yes, shimanos lightest drivetrain components , srams lightest 4 piston brakes, a build under 26 pounds, a shock without a piggyback, and less than 140mm travel front and rear are for "trail or enduro"

It’s a Downcountry bike with some older parts. Not a true race whip would def put it more on the trail side

if you look at the geometry specialized epic 8 evo pro, which im guessing you would call a xc bike, both that and the tallboy 5 in a size large have:
-headtube angle just under 66 degrees in the high position
-wheelbase just over 1200mm
-steep seat tube angles (75 & 75.7 degrees)
-similar bottom bracket heights (337 and 335mm)
though to be fair the tallboy does have higher stack height, but still im confused as to how the geometry of the tallboy isnt xc enough -
