🚧 Bikology Update – Friday Release & What’s Next

Announcements
  • why not ?

  • Forget about the ebikes, no one needs them, instead add more components and bikes from smaller brands, I feel like that's much better for most people

    @trafficones we neeeeeed ebikes bro

but I agree with the more components

  • @trafficones we neeeeeed ebikes bro

@Sur-Ronster what reason is there for ebikes even existing, like they're just slower

  • @Sur-Ronster what reason is there for ebikes even existing, like they're just slower

@Sur-Ronster E BIKES ARE TRASH GET A LIFE YOU HAVE LEGS FOR A REASON

@Sur-Ronster yeah I see what you're saying, I just feel like if you get to the point that you can't climb, you should maybe just like ride road bikes, because if you run out of battery and can't climb, you're stuck in the middle of the woods.

  • @Sur-Ronster E BIKES ARE TRASH GET A LIFE YOU HAVE LEGS FOR A REASON

    @Alex_Trails34

many older people, people with disabilities, and others need them to enjoy the trail... next time, think before you comment...

  • @Sur-Ronster E BIKES ARE TRASH GET A LIFE YOU HAVE LEGS FOR A REASON

@Alex_Trails34 lol yea but for other people

    I don't own an ebike

  • @bikology , regarding ebikes, do you mean pedal assisted class 2 MTB bikes, or like bonnells, surron styled bikes.

  • Hey everyone,

We want to take a minute to acknowledge what a lot of you noticed after Friday’s release.

Yes — some bikes and components disappeared.
Yes — options temporarily got slimmer.
And yes — that was intentional.

Why we did this (the real talk)

Behind the scenes, Bikology just shipped a brand-new image template system. This is a foundational change — not a visual tweak(go take a look at master links in the chain, for example).

Our previous setup made it increasingly hard to:

    • Maintain consistent, brand-accurate imagery
    • Scale cleanly as more bikes and components were added
    • Automate and move quickly without creating long-term technical debt

So we made a hard call.

We intentionally narrowed scope and removed a chunk of bikes and components so we could rebuild the system the right way — with consistency, accuracy, and scale in mind. Short-term pain, long-term wins.

    What this unlocks

    This new template system enables:

    • Cleaner, more consistent visuals across the builder
    • Faster onboarding for brands and dealers
    • Better long-term maintainability (for us) and reliability (for you)

This is one of those “invisible but critical” upgrades that sets the stage for everything that comes next.

    What’s happening now

We’re already actively adding bikes and components back — this time on the new foundation.

To keep ourselves accountable, here’s what’s currently in progress / up next:

    • Downhill bikes category + respective components and compatibility.
    • E-bike category + respective components and compatibility.
    • Chromag Lowdown
    • Chromag Rootdown
    • Chromag Stylus
    • Chromag Reazon
    • Intense Tracer 279
    • Intense Primer
    • The Banshee Lineup
    • Revel Ritual
    • Revel Rascal
    • Revel Ranger
    • Santa Cruz V10
    • Pivot Phoenix
    • S-Works Stumpjumper 15
    • S-Works Epic 8
    • Ibis Ripley
    • Ibis Ripmo
    • Yeti ASR
    • Yeti SB140
    • Transition Sentinel

    Thank you

To our power users, dealers, and brands: thank you for the patience and trust. We hear you. We don’t take removing options lightly — but this reset puts Bikology in a much stronger position to move faster, look better, and support more brands without compromise.

If something you rely on disappeared and you’re itching to see it back, reach out. Feedback during this phase genuinely helps guide what comes back first.

More soon — and more often.

@bikology can you please add the 2011 norco shore 2

  • some dh frames would be nice

  • @Alex_Trails34

many older people, people with disabilities, and others need them to enjoy the trail... next time, think before you comment...

@Lucasgri People with disabilities almost always know what sports they can and cant do and they chose many other sports then MTB and many elderly people don't ride trails. Obviously you are a road biker.

  • @bikology , regarding ebikes, do you mean pedal assisted class 2 MTB bikes, or like bonnells, surron styled bikes.

@endurobuilder None of the above we dont need them just use your legs E bikes are not trail bikes they are for people like Cara bell

  • @bikology , regarding ebikes, do you mean pedal assisted class 2 MTB bikes, or like bonnells, surron styled bikes.

@endurobuilder probably class 2, because anything more would be too hard to make and there isn't as wide selection or bonnells and full throttle bikes.

@Alex_Trails34 yes, I do road ride for training, but I have competed in XC states 3 times, Enduro openers last year, and XC and road endurance racing and ultras. For the record, just because you have a disability doesn't mean you shouldn't do something you love, and many elderly people and people with disabilities do mountain biking using E-bikes or even adaptive bikes. This is something that is out of their control, which should be considered by other riders. Used on trails, E-bikes do no more damage than a regular bike and do not affect others in any way. On top of that, Bikoligy should add E-Bikes; they are trying to build a business, not cater to kids.
